A holiday tradition is back at Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates in Sacramento. The shop announced its advent calendar is available again this year.

Owner Ginger Hahn says each day will include a shareable treat. She says lots of planning went into making sure this year's picks were unique and locally sourced.

She says she put a focus on ingredients from local farms and other small businesses. That includes walnuts from Full Belly Farms, plums from Yolo Press and coffee from Camellia Coffee Roasters.

Other ingredients came from right in her backyard.

"I also grew a few herbs in my garden over the summer to include in the infusions of some of these chocolates that we're making," says Hahn.

She says the calendars are nostalgic reminders of her past that can serve as a fun tradition for families.

"I'm really excited because I just remember as a kid that feeling of 'oh I can't wait for the next day' and so it's just something to look forward to," Hahn says.

The calendars became available for pre-sales on Oct. 1. They're only available online on the Ginger Elizabeth website.
