Organisers the National Confectioners Association (NCA) gave a little taste of what to expect by revealing early data on identifying brand collaborations, flavour mashups, and interactive treats as the top trends driving innovation across the two powerhouse categories.

"The Sweets & Snacks Expo continues to be a significant driver in flavour and product trends for the confectionery and snack categories enhancing our retail attendees’ ability to delight their shoppers​," said John Downs, president & CEO of NCA, said. "Attendees of this year's show will be among the first to sample and experience these new trends helping them stay one step ahead of their competition."​

After 25 years in Chicago, it is also the end of an era for one of the world's premier candy and snacks trade fairs as next year it moves to Indiana and then Las Vegas.
