Aussies have been left horrified by an 'illegal' Arnott's Scotch Finger act.

A Reddit user took to the platform to share the hilarious way their friend stores the national delicacy.

Perhaps the most illogical and diabolical storage solution, this bikkie lover managed to leave viewers shocked and dismayed.

"Mi friend stores the Scotch like this. Should I call the police?" the post was captioned alongside a picture that revealed the crime.

Instead of using a humble biscuit jar, a peg or a sandwich bag, this person elected to leave their Scotch Fingers in an unsealed bowl.

Unfortunately, that was not the worst part; they also chose to break the biscuits horizontally, not vertically, where they are already intended to be broken.

Over 400 comments flooded the post, with hundreds of Redditors floored by this truly abhorrent technique.

"This can't be real. Broken in half and uncovered so they go stale - this is the absolute worst," one wrote.

"Police? You need a psychiatrist - your friend is a psychopath," one joked.

Another added: "I would have said call the Police. But then I realised - this is not food. It is art. It depicts how everything delicious will be broken. We are meant to feel horrified. It should be sold to a gallery for three million dollars."

To which someone replied: "It could be to demonstrate the fugacious nature of the life of a biscuit, something that we can reflect upon and incorporate into an empathetic outlook."

One simply wrote: "100% illegal."

A series of commenters then suggested the Reddit user end their friendship with this biscuit-related criminal, with one explaining, "That person is not capable of having feelings or human emotion - let alone friendship."

We can only hope this "broken" person is directed to more acceptable storage solutions for their Scotch Fingers.
