French Broad Chocolate's Classic Hot Chocolate Collection has been included in Oprah Winfrey's prestigious list of Favorite Things for the holidays.

The French Broad Chocolate team continues its craft despite the damage left by Hurricane Helene.

"It's a hard time. It's a challenging time," said co-founder and CEO Jael Skeffington. She said the national acknowledgment brings hope and encouragement to the staff.

Skeffington revealed that they received the exciting news three months ago but were required to keep it under wraps until Nov. 1.

"It's an honor, and we're so grateful," Skeffington said.

She said the recognition is also a much-needed boost for the company as they work to recover from Hurricane Helene. "People who buy our chocolate are helping us to stay open, helping us rebuild, helping us bring back our team to give them jobs, to contribute to our local economy," she expressed.

She also urges people to support other Asheville businesses.

"Asheville really needs the support from outside of our community to keep our small businesses afloat," Skeffington said.
