The Discontinued Tic Tac Flavor That Returned Due To Popular Demand

A Tic Tac container is likely within reach if it's your go-to for a breath refresher and can be found near almost every checkout counter. Founded in 1969, Tic Tac has become a favorite among people for its unique-flavored mints.
Cinnamon Tic Tacs has become a fan-favorite since its introduction in the 1970s. However, it was abruptly discontinued in 2009. Outcry soon followed with petitions and online groups demanding the company brings back the cinnamon flavor. A Change.org petition claimed, "Millions of loyal customers were deeply disappointed when this product was discontinued in 2009."
Ferrero, Tic Tac's parent company, heard the rally and brought back the flavor — though with a catch. Cinnamon Tic Tacs are not part of the permanent lineup but are brought back occasionally. Most recently, in 2021, it was reintroduced as a holiday flavor available for a limited time — mint and cinnamon happen to be popular winter flavors.
Although the cinnamon flavor appears on Amazon, It isn't available to be purchased. Cinnamon Tic Tacs are also not found on the list of flavors on the Tic Tac website.
It's unclear if cinnamon-flavored Tic Tacs are only released seasonally, but Tic Tacs fans have been speculating that this is the case. Since its first iteration, cinnamon Tic Tacs have been released under different names. At one point, the mints were brought back as Cinnamon Spice, according to a Reddit user.
That flavor was again discontinued in 2015, with Tic Tac explaining in the comments of a Facebook post that "...in order to help keep our product line interesting and give consumers innovative flavors."
One fan was unhappy, expressing their disapproval in the comments. "For a breath mint company to discontinue such a popular breath freshening flavor in favor of fruity options seems nuts," the Facebook user said.
Currently, less than 10 Tic Tac flavors are available, according to its website, with flavors such as Freshmints and Orange remaining popular spales in the lineup. The brand sometimes releases new, limited flavors as well. The current roster includes Freshmints, Tropical Adventure, Orange, Fruit Adventures, Wintergreen, Coca-Cola, Big Berry Adventure, Strawberry and Cream, and Sprite.
