Jacksepticeye Does The Sour Candy Challenge

Dec 20, 2023

He settles the YouTube vs. Twitch debate and reveals what he hates about celebrity interviews.

Seán McLoughlin, better known as Jacksepticeye, has been making video game-related content for YouTube and Twitch for over a decade. The Irish gamer, streamer, and coffee mogul has racked up over 16 billion views on YouTube alone to his audience of nearly 30 million subscribers.

McLoughlin has collaborated with fellow Internet personalities as well as celebrities like Jack Black, Tom Holland, and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. It's no wonder he runs one of YouTube's top-earning gaming channels.

He may be a master at video games, but can he handle a round of Suck It Up? For each juicy secret that McLoughlin reveals, he has to snack on an increasingly sour candy. Eventually he works his way up to the final boss: an ultra-sour gummy made in the Delish test kitchen.

McLoughlin has millions of subscribers on both YouTube and Twitch; but if you put the platforms head-to-head, which does he prefer? The answer: YouTube all the way. He prefers being able to edit and craft his content so that each video is the most entertaining. Streaming, on the other hand, leaves him quickly running out of steam.

Speaking of head-to-heads, has McLoughlin ever considered competing in the charity boxing match Creator Clash? Unlike some of his peers like iDubbbz and Alex Wasssabi, he has no interest in entering the ring. Rather than risking a humiliating public loss and potential brain damage, he's happy hosting the pre- and post-show instead.

As someone who's had an online presence for over 10 years, McLoughlin admits that sometimes he gets sick of his profile picture and famous catchphrase. He's scaled back on opening up his videos with "Top of the morning to ya laddies," but will still throw it in occasionally since his fans still love it.

After spilling all of this tea, can McLoughlin's "stupid little baby mouth" handle these super-sour candies? You'll have to watch the video above to find out.
