Global ingredients group Corbion is set to showcase its core range of application, including for the confectionery sector, at this year’s Food Ingredients Europe (EiE) event, reports Neill Barston.
The company, which recently played a significant role in our World Confectionery Conference (pictured main image), will be promoting some of its key innovations, including its Purac Powder Max, developed to assist sourness and stability within product ranges.
Moreover, the company will be appearing at FiE, to be held at Messe Frankfurt, Germany, between 19-21 November, on stand 3.1, K62, with a total of 1,500 businesses exhibiting, with a total number of 25,000 visitors from around the world anticipated.
Across its wider portfolio, Corbion will be showcasing nature-based preservative solutions tailored to the needs of meat, poultry, and plant-based alternatives.
With a strong focus on reducing food waste and supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, Corbion’s preservative solutions are designed to maintain freshness, texture, and safety, while extending the shelf life of food products.
In addition to placing food waste reduction as a core priority in its product development, studies have also shown that Corbion’s focus on addressing SDGs 2, 3, and 12, and by responding to consumer behaviours that drive sustainability are of core importance.
For example, as the business noted, with 93% of consumers checking grocery stocks before purchasing and 91% reviewing expiration dates, Corbion’s shelf-life solutions help extend product freshness, reducing food waste and supporting responsible consumption (SDG 12)
. Additionally, 77% of consumers are open to products with longer expiration dates, which aligns with Corbion’s focus on food safety (SDG 3) and food security (SDG 2), ensuring healthier, more sustainable food options.
Corbion’s comprehensive approach to “preserving what matters” offers nature-based solutions that extend the shelf life of meat and poultry. These solutions also protect consumers against spoilage organisms like Listeria and reduce pathogen risks, while maintaining the product’s aroma, colour, and texture.
